68 Head Rest restoration

Gentleman,
i have two sets of 68 Cougar Head Rests. Both are nice, but i prefer to get them restorated.
Who can help me to find the best Shop to do these for me?

Thank you so much
Jörg From Germany

The 68 headrests are a molded vinyl over foam and cannot be removed, If they are nice with no cracks, I would suggest just clean them good and re-dye if necessary. You are very lucky to have two sets, I am still looking for just one single side.

Here is a link to Flasheart’s headrest restoration that he did on his GT-E. https://cccforum.discoursehosting.net/t/1969-1970-cougar-parts-for-sale/113/1

one Headrest is to bad to fix it by myself.
I remember there was a Company out there they do a professional job on headrest.
who knows ist?

Thank you
Joerg

That is the flip side to having a Cougar with a rare option (if that part is missing or damaged) - but the optimal solution is have the correct, original headrests. Especially in a GT-E.

Sorry, I don’t know of a source to restore them.

You could put in a pair of '69 Cougar seats while you are looking.

They cannot be correctly restored with the raised ridge. We have singles available, they are never perfect but they are crack free, at a minimum you will have to paint.

Anyone tried Just Dashes before?
thank you
Joerg

They will charge more than good used, take about one year and cannot do the raised lip. DON’T DO IT!!!

Thank you Don! I will try to fix them by myself
Unfortunately i do have only one set here (bought from WCCC), the 2nd Set is still in US.
So I can check it for condition in some weeks first.
Thank you @ all!
